Structural impact testing

Some of our research are related with structural testing under impact. For this reason some special rig and supports need to be designed, engineered and tested:

Our lab and engineer could design and manufacture the required rig for the required task and research.

Quasistatic Coupon testing

As part of the Continuuum Mechanics department of the University Carlos III of Madrid also quasistatic and fatigue machines are available for static characterization in a range from 100 N - 250 kN

High speed cameras

In order to record the dynamic events, LSDG use the state of the art of the high speed cameras:

  • Photron SA-Z up to 2.1 M of fps
  • Photron SA-X up to 200 k fps

Low speed cameras

In order to record the quasistatic events, LSDG use different cameras:

3D Digital Image Correlation (3D DIC)

The state of the art of the Digital Image Correlation 3D VIC software give us access of a ton of data to analyse the structural behaviour during the impact or dynamic testing.

High speed data adquisition system

Accelerometers, strain gauges, cell loads and LVDTs should be recorded at the right moment and at the right rate. The LSDG use more than 13 channels of a Dewetron
